In The Redd

Miles Redd is NOT afraid of color, I have never met the man, but without meeting him I know I can safely make that statement about him.  I’ve admired his work from afar through magazine and internet articles for several years, and I’m always struck by his use of strong color and animal print.

Redd also does something which I love to do, which is to take furniture that may be old, but still has beautiful lines, and reupholster it in a current, contemporary fabric.  While Redd’s looks are so now, they also have a feeling of days gone by for me, very nostalgic.

Miles Redd started out in film school at NYU, but found himself more captivated by the sets that surrounded the actors than the action itself on screen.  Before opening his own design firm in 1998 Redd worked for antiques dealer John Rosselli and legendary New York designer Bunny Williams, as well as being the creative director for Oscar de la Renta Home.

Join me today as we peek into the world of Miles Redd and admire his dramatic creations.
