Pantone Color Of 2015: Marsala

December 29, 2014

By Tab Byrum

I was a little pre-occupied with Christmas decorating for clients on December 4th when Pantone announced their pick for the “It” color of 2015.  The color chosen by the gurus of color is Marsala, a color described as a deep earthy wine colored red.

Red has always been my favorite color personally, although I have kind of drifted away from the bright reds of stop signs and circuses and find myself drawn to more rich and regal reds.  I like the color Marsala, and think done in the right way it will be amazing, especially as an accent color.  It reminds me of some of the colors used in home decor and fashion from my childhood, when things were very earthy in color, of course then “Rust” was big color choice, but I definitely like this much better.  I’ve put together some images of Marsala, what do you think?  Yes or No?
