15 Choices: Wrap It Up, Part 1

December 15, 2014

By Tab Byrum

Happy Monday one and all, I hope everyone had a great weekend.  We ran some errands, delivered fabrics to the workroom for bedding and drapes for a couple of clients, visited a couple of restaurants, did some cooking, caught up on some of our DVR shows and watched the latest X-Men Movie on Blu Ray but now with 10 days left til Christmas it’s back to the holiday craziness.  One thing I keep hearing people say is they have to start wrapping gifts, so I decided to take a look at all the cool choices we have in wrapping paper.

When I was in retail,  picking out the holiday wrap to use and sell in the store was one of my favorite things to do for the holidays, and I was always interested to see what people chose to use for the wrap at their homes.  Join me today as we wrap it up neatly with a bow, or maybe no bows, I haven’t decided that yet.  Enjoy!!!  (to visit the websites for the retailers, click on their name in orange)

Pier 1 Imports

Pier 1’s are pretty prolific around the country so most people can get a hold of these papers, and of course you can always order from stores online.  I was really happy with choices of Pier 1, what do you think?

I’m always crazy about a good wood or tree bark anything.  Imagine this
paper with red and/or green ribbon.

Sparkle it up with some Elf holographic paper, perfect for kid’s gifts.

I love this green themed paper, it has a nordic feel to it in a fun and unique color scheme.

Of course gold is alway good at Christmas and throw in a classic paisley print and voila!!

We don’t have a Crate&Barrel here in OKC but I always try to squeeze in a visit to one when in Dallas.  I love all their home products and their holiday choices don’t disappoint either.

This Winter Bough wrap looks great with silver ribbon, but would also look great with red or a green velvet.

Winter Accessories from C&B is fun and I love it paired with the striped ribbon.

I’m also a sucker for any vintage brown wrapping paper look, Trees from C&B has endless possibilities as far as companion ribbon, but I’m really liking these tapes they have.

This one is called Nordic Band, reminds me of sweaters.

Spoonflower is a company I was not familiar with until I began researching this article.  Spoonflower has tons of choices, many of them non-traditional which works really well with the multitude of choices we now have in colors and design for our holiday decorating.

If it’s vintage or retro and holiday I want it and this paper is all of the above.  Look at those images, just like being at Grandma’s when I was a little boy.

This one is called Christmas Portraits and with a black background it’s screaming for white or turquoise bows and ribbons.

Love these rows upon rows of Santa heads on an icy blue background.

The possibilities are endless here with Christmas Ornaments as far as ribbon colors to use, so fun!!!

Not On The High Street

Not On The High Street is another company I was unaware of until I began writing this article and scouring the web for ideas.  NOTHS is a British company with some great original products, and once I found out they are British I began to understand the humor in their products.

Carrots are not a Christmas theme I would have thought of but it totally works, and if the orange is pushing it for you well you can totally do green ribbon.

For the last several years Penguins have been in vogue, especially where kids are concerned.  I really like these more realistic looking gents in their tuxes, and paired with red ribbon is very smart looking.

I was so excited to see this wrap, brown paper with colorful Santa Clauses and Snowmen, until I realized the characters are on a tape, EVEN BETTER!!!!

You can use these tapes on any color paper and have instant Christmas.  Wouldn’t they both look awesome on black paper?!?!

That’s Day 1 of Christmas wrap, check back tomorrow for another set of choices.

All images are courtesy of the individual companies, which are linked back to in each article.

By on .
