For me to pick up a pencil and attempt to draw water would only result in childish looking waves or perhaps a drinking glass with a line drawn across the center of it to represent a glass half full, but what Chinese artist Paul-Shanghai does with a pencil is nothing short of miraculous. I was led to Paul-Shanghai through Twitter, someone who I follow on there follows him and so on and so on. Needless to say I was bowled over when I saw his work and thought it was a black and white photograph, then after investigating more I found out his work is all done in pencil on Bristol Board.
“Just Add Flower And Water”
He has many many beautiful drawings but these that imitate water in motion are truly amazing, his ability to capture the movement and flow of this element that’s almost impossible to control is mind boggling. Let me know what you think of Paul-Shanghai’s work, Enjoy!!!
