Mid-Century Chic: Then & Now

March 5, 2015

We often talk about the fact that when we were kids there were predictions that by this time we would all have flying cars and be wearing jet packs to fly from one place to another and that all our meals would consist of a pill that would give us the sensation of tasty food and all the nutrition we would need (remember Violet Beauregard and the meal in a stick of gum, EEEK).  While a lot of those predictions have not come to pass it does seem that a lot of people are finding the design look of the 1950’s and 60′ very attractive.

I am one of those people, while I love the look of design from the middle of the last century, I’m not always crazy about the colors, but there’s no reason not to take the shapes and look of an era we like and update it with colors and fabrics from the present.  Today we are going to take a look at Mid-Century Design and just how popular it is in the 21st Century, try and guess which pics are from today and which are from 50 and 60 years ago.  Enjoy!!!
