When we were in NYC in April I was so excited when I saw the photographs and prints by David Parise at the Chelsea Market, we were in a hurry so I quickly checked out his work, grabbed a business card and am ready to share his work and order some prints of my own.
David Parise began his relationship with photography using an 8 MM camera his father purchased after returning home from World War II. He began his current project of photographing Barbie in 2009 after he ran across a book featuring vintage Ken and Barbie dolls, today he photographs them in original 1960’s clothing in a multitude of situations. Barbie at the beach with her man or Barbie and her best girlfriends, there are even some of Ken and Barbie in the kitchen with Ken fixing breakfast wearing nothing but an apron (Oh Barbie, you little minx). Join me as we check out the fun and retro creations of David Parise, you can click here to visit his site to order prints and see his gallery schedule. Enjoy!!!
