Artist Patsy Mcarthur describes herself as a figurative artist, and right now her favorite way to paint figures is in motion underwater. Patsy was born in Glasgow, Scotland and studied at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen. She has exhibited all over England and has lived and worked throughout Europe, Australia, and New York.

“Otherworld”

Patsy says she’s ” interested in the “otherness” which comes from being submerged below the surface and the technical challenges associated with drawing and painting the figure through different transparencies of water.” I was really amazed to find out her works are paintings and not photographs when I first saw them. I love how they capture the human form and how our movements appear underwater, almost like we become different creatures. Check out the work of Patsy Mcarthur here at SaatchArt, for now here’s a few pics to ponder. Enjoy!!!
