Peaches And Dreams

August 3, 2015

By Tab Byrum

August is National Peach Month, a whole month set aside to honor a piece of fruit, so I thought we would go another way in our peach worship and focus on the color.

I remember as a kid seeing home decor with the color peach, a lot of people did a whole thing with peach and navy blue and while it wasn’t awful it wasn’t my favorite, today though there is a whole new direction with peach and home decor. Peach is one of those light but strong colors, and with the whole movement of using neutrals such as gray and tan, peach looks lovely. Peach also looks great with strong colors such as blues and black, so it’s very versatile. Let’s take a look at peach and let me know what you pick (get it??). Enjoy!!!

This room is the perfect example of using your color on the ceiling and then picking it up with pillows and window treatments.

I love this room, a very old school classic NYC living room.

Peach takes center stage here with a classic shaped table painted in our fruit hue.

Just touches here and there, from the drapes to the blanket and the flowers on the pillows.

I honestly wouldn’t have thought of using peach as an exterior color, love it though with the black door and shutters.

I’m thinking this looks peach because of the way the light is hitting the building, but it’s lovely.

Great example of picking one color and focusing on them in the window treatments.
