As we gear up for NY Fashion Week to begin I want to look at something I’ve noticed over the last several years as far as a trend in jewelry and decided to learn more about it, it’s the Alhambra jewelry, you know the one where pieces are made using the Quatrefoil or Clover shape.
Alhambra jewelry was first started by Van Cleef & Arpels in the 1960’s and over the years its popularity has ebbed and flowed as all trends do, but today the Alhambra trend is red hot, so red hot that it’s being “knocked off” left and right. Today you can find the clover shapes made of mother of pearl, turquoise, and several other stones. They come surrounded in diamonds and suspended on beautiful chains as necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Join me as we take a look at this beautiful design in jewelry which we also see in home decor and fashion as well. Enjoy!!!
Of course black and white is always beautiful and chic.
The turquoise Alhambra’s are always very eye catching.

Look how much it adds to a simple sweater.
Occasionally other flower shapes and butterflies are added to the traditional Clover shape.
This Malachite collection is beautiful.
They look like clouds floating.
