The other day I saw a link on Facebook to a story about Sophie Gamand and her recent work entitled Flower Power, Pitbulls Of The Revolution, a response to the negative media attention on the Pit Bull breed, so I checked it out and immediately fell in love. All of her photographic art focuses on dogs, from being wet, dressed in drag to wearing awesome and very serious floral headpieces. Sophie Gamand is a French photographer who today lives in New York City. She has been focusing on dogs and the relationships we humans have with our canine pals since 2010. Sophie says she photographs dogs to better understand humans, she believes we (humans) have a tremendous responsibility to dogs and it shows in the beautiful photographs she takes of them. Here’s to Sophie Gamand and her beautiful work, join me for a look at some photos from her upcoming Wet Dog book, premiering October 13th, as well as Flower Power, Enjoy!!!
