Rainbow of Acrylic Ink in Water. Color Explosion

Every year about this time the design world begins speculating on what the hot new color will be for the next year, recently Elle Decor speculated and looked at three promising colors as well as looking at the front-runner back in the early Fall. Today we are going to look at the possible winners and the leader of the pack. Pantone, of course, is the leader in color predictions and production, they usually announce the color they feel will be the color of the year in December, so as soon as they let us know I’ll let you know. In the meantime here’s a look at three possibilities and the rumored leader, Enjoy!!!

Rose Quartz

This girly shade of pink is already reportedly being seen a great deal both in fashion and home decor.

Lilac Gray

Gray, of course, is the new neutral, but this shade is anything but plain. Lilac Gray has already been chosen as a Pantone color of the year and it’s easy to see why, this shade pairs well with other pastel colors as well with bright colors like orange and green.

A shade of Blue has not been the color of the year for the last 8 years, so maybe Serenity will come out on top. This shade is often referred to as looking like hydrangeas right before they turn purple, it also reminds me of a denim blue that Ralph Lauren had in his paint collection several years ago.

Predicted Winner: Peacock Blue

Peacock Blue for some is already the clear winner as 2016 Color of the Year, as you can see it works beautifully with white and creams as well as gold and last year’s winner, Marsala. Time will tell what the color of the year will be, if its Peacock Blue, well I can definitely live with that.
