Sink-ing In

February 3, 2016

It’s looking more and more like this will be the year of the kitchen remodel for us at our home, there’s a lot of things that I know for sure such as white cabinets, white subway tile with gray grout for backsplash and lots of drawers, but one thing I haven’t decided on for sure it is the type of sink. I’m leaning more and more towards what’s referred to as a farmhouse sink or an apron front sink.

I like how this sink looks, how substantial it is and you know, chunky. Until recently I had only seen them in white porcelain on cast iron but when I began researching I found them in other metals including stainless steel and copper. Do you have a farmhouse sink and if so do you like it? I also know I want whatever sink I choose to be an under mount sink like the one above, which means it’s mounted underneath the countertops and doesn’t have a lip around the edge that sits on the countertop and holds the sink up. Here are some pics and ideas about sinks, Enjoy!!!

This is kind of the look I’m shooting for.

Even though the sink is called a Farmhouse Sink this pic shows that it can be very elegant looking as well.

Here’s a good look at a Farmhouse Sink in a metal, the hammered copper is beautiful but darker than I want to go and more expensive.

The sinks come in one large sink like this one or divided into 2 sinks, not sure about part yet.

Here’s a look at a stainless steel apron front sink, very sharp.

This is a Fireclay Farmhouse sink, isn’t it gorgeous?

I think I’ve about talked myself into a white Farmhouse sink just by doing this post, I’ll let you know.
