Thanks to the magic of the modern computer you thought I was here busily blogging every day when in reality I was in Atlanta Sunday, Monday and Tuesday attending the 2016 Design Blogger’s Conference. The conference is in its sixth year, it brings together interior decorators, designers, bloggers, and people from the furniture, fabric and accessories world and allows us to meet, talk and see how we can work with and help each other with our jobs and goals. This was my first time at the conference and I really enjoyed it. The conference was held at the beautiful Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, we had wonderful speakers in the way of designer Cynthia Rowley, designer and businesswoman India Hicks, designer and TV personality Nathan Turner and Designer and Million Dollar Decorator, Mary McDonald. In addition, to all the celebrities and designers we had talks from wonderful folks trying to give us all the best tips on how to navigate the crazy world of the internet in 2016. The conference was amazing and I’ll definitely try to attend next years, which they announced at the Conference will be in Beverly Hills, so look out LA, here we come. Until next year here’s a few pics I took and I’ll be sharing more next week about some of the beautiful home decor, fixtures and appliances we saw, Enjoy!!!
Sunday evening things were kicked off with a fabulous cocktail party at the Ferguson showroom in Atlanta, co-sponsored by Traditional Home Magazine.
I’ll do a more in depth post next week, but needless to say the Ferguson showroom was beautiful and full of gorgeous things.
Our first keynote speaker on Monday morning was designer Cynthia Rowley, after building a fashion empire she’s now gotten into the home decor business.
I was very excited about our Monday afternoon keynote speaker, India Hicks, being the Anglophile I am. She has been working on a new business endeavor and I’ll go more in-depth on her and her business next week also.
Monday evening we all got on buses and headed over to The Container Store, where we were stuffed with amazing food and cocktails and introduced to their new TCS Closets, a good time was had by all.
On Tuesday after a morning of speakers and tons of information we headed over to the beautiful Pirch showroom for lunch, then a nice talk by designer Mary McDonald.
Designers Mary McDonald and Nathan Turner provided us with lots of good advice, ideas, and laughs. ( via )
I just wanted to give you an overview of what’s been going on, I’ll go into a lot more detail next week, so check back!!! Have a great Thursday.
