Today we are looking at our last artist in the series focusing on the art and artists at Tiger Flower Studio, Gertrude Hamilton. Hamilton is a Belgian artist who studied in Paris and the Art Students League in New York City, it was in New York City at the ASL that she discovered the art of both botanical and natural history illustration. Today she works in pencil and watercolors always focusing on nature and creating very natural looking works, she shows her work worldwide and has headlined 4 different solo shows in NYC. I love Gertrude’s work, her subject matter and the way she portrays her subjects hearkens back to centuries past and the works of great masters. For me, she has taken the subject of what was once painted in still life settings and elevated them to a 21st-century look. Join me for a look at prints of Gertrude Hamilton’s paintings on Tiger Flower studios and Enjoy!!!
