I was recently reading a short article on Veranda Magazine’s website about certain Interior Design trends they wish would make a comeback, one of them I totally agree with is Yellow Rooms. I love a good yellow room, nothing too over the top or in your face yellow, just a nice buttery yellow decorated in a coordinating color. Yellow rooms always remind me for some reason of British homes, it seems anytime you check out websites or books on English country homes there’s invariably a yellow room in the house. We’ve talked about yellow before here at Tabulous, yellow is a color that makes you smile and feels refreshing, and there are so many colors you can use with it, everything from red to blue, black and green. So today we are doing a color post on Yellow Rooms and the many, many ways you can do them. Enjoy!!! ( above, via )

This is a great look at a very traditional room done up in yellow, from the rolled arm and tufted sofa, Asian lamp and blue and white porcelain peeking over the back of the sofa. ( via )

I love this bathroom, the paint color takes center stage and the rest of the decoration is kept to a minimum. ( via )

Yellow also works well if you have white painted woodwork, I always love the look of white cabinets and woodwork against yellow walls. ( via )

Yellow works great here, it’s an awesome background color for all the other colors going on here with the rug, throw pillow, ceramics, and flowers. ( via )

I love this simple vignette in a yellow foyer, yellow is a great color to use in an entry to greet you and your guests to your home. ( via )

This is a great way to get some color in your room without painting the whole room. Tape off the area on the wall where you want to add color and paint within the tape. This is great for an office area as in the picture, or a kids room. ( via )

A beautiful yellow room decorated in a traditional way with a sofa and a pair of chairs. The yellow color provides a great backdrop.  ( via )

This may be my favorite laundry room I’ve seen, yellow is all over the Shaker cabinets and brightens up a room to do chores. ( via )

So many time we see yellow used in more traditional decorating, this bedroom shows you how to use the sunshine hue. It’s especially great paired with modern feeling gray. ( via )
