There’re lots going on in the world of design, so much that we couldn’t fit it all in regular posts this week, take a look at these stories on color, art, designer toys, Paris, and chicken. Enjoy!!!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve surfed the internet looking at websites for art galleries and artists and you stumble onto an original piece by an artist but I never feel confident enough to buy something, that’s one reason I really enjoyed this article in Elle Decor Magazine on How To Buy Art Like A Pro. Auction and downsizing expert Barry Gordon gives 4 great tips for purchasing art.

I definitely believe color affects they way we feel, you know how you just feel better and more comfortable wearing some colors than others and the same can be said for being in rooms painted certain colors. British designer Vanessa Arbuthnott recently put together a great chart on colors, their meanings, the emotions they bring out and what rooms you should and shouldn’t paint in these colors. It’s featured in this ED article, very interesting.

We all grew up with Fisher Price toys, now the tot brand is going designer with word that Designer/Author Jonathan Adler has come on board as the Creative Director for Fisher Price. The first collection will debut this fall and include nursery decor, bedding, clothing, and toys. The deal between Adler and Mattel owned FP is for three years and will feature all the bright colors Adler is known for, here’s the announcement and story on the FP website.

Paris is redefining several of its major traffic intersections by having them redesigned to be more accommodating to pedestrians.  The move began in 2013 with the redesign of the Place de la République and has proved to be so popular that it’s being continued at seven sites, the redesigns will give pedestrians and cyclists at least 50% of the public spaces.

And finally today a few recipes to contemplate over the weekend from Food52.com. These all look amazing and I’m definitely going to try the recipe for chicken thighs with tomato, orzo, olives, and feta. Chicken never looked so good.  Have an awesome weekend.
