What do you do when you want a retreat in the mountains but you don’t want everything to be log cabins and pinecones? You call in a professional, and that’s just what a California family did when they brought in designer Jamie Bush, Bush says when he asked his new clients what they were looking for in their new home they had two words, “Tom Ford“. The couple says they love the integrity of Tom Ford’s clothing creations along with the cut of the clothes and the quality of fabrics, the homeowners are both techies and have three children. I love this house, the colors that are used, the textiles and the juxtaposition of a sleek, contemporary look against the mountains of Tahoe. Jamie Bush did an amazing job, have a peek here and head over to Elle Decor for more information, Enjoy!!!
I love the use of stacked stone in a contemporary way around the fireplace, the dark color of some stones is picked up by the smoky color of the sofa and chairs in the room as well as the mirrored table.
The husband is an internationally ranked poker player, so he wanted a poker den to practice and entertain other players.
I really like the wooden ceilings in this home, they add a whole new element to the home. The cabinetry is very sleek with no visible hardware, the kitchen island is made of quartzite.
The bedrooms and children’s playroom is all housed in the “cedar sided box” you saw in the top photo. Here in kids bedroom the children sleep on custom designed bunk beds, I really like the use of blue throughout the house.
The master bedroom has an amazing view to wake up to every morning, the blue/gray color scheme is carried out in here as well and plays beautifully against the greens of nature outside the window.
