Growing up Jell-O was a mainstay at my Grandma’s house, we had Jell-O in pretty glass dishes with homemade whip cream, and Jell-O chocolate pudding was a quick and easy dessert for those days she called the school to tell us to come eat lunch with her. Mam-Ma used Jell-O in tons of recipes from her Watergate Salad with Pistachio flavored Jell-O pudding and the Chocolate Pudding Dessert we all still talk about. One of the recipes my mom makes using Jell-O is her Strawberry Pretzel Salad, it has salty/sweet pretzel crust and a filling of cream cheese and sugar all topped off with Strawberry Jell-O and berries. This dish goes with everything year round but it’s especially great in the summertime with anything cooked on the grill, since you keep it in the refrigerator it’s always nice and cold and the pretzel crust is one of my very favorite crusts. Strawberry Pretzel Torte is a great recipe to take to a cookout and share, I want to share this Strawberry recipe with you and a few pics to let you know it looks as good as it tastes. A big THANK YOU to mom for making this for me to have and photograph, you’re the BEST!!! Enjoy!!!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix the first two ingredients in a bowl with 3 Tablespoons of sugar, pat this mixture into the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, set aside to cool.

Blend together the softened Cream Cheese and one Cup of sugar in a bowl and spread this mixture over the cooled pretzel crust, cover this layer with Cool Whip, cover, and chill in
the refrigerator.

While that is chilling dissolve your Strawberry Jell-O in a bowl with two cups of boiling water, stir in the thawed out fruit and 3/4 Cup of cold water. Place this mixture in the refrigerator to chill
until it’s partially set, DO NOT let it completely set up.

Spread the Strawberry Jell-O mixture over the Cool Whip layer, over and chill until ready to serve.
