All during the month of May we’ve been looking to the Strawberry for inspiration, we’ve looked at it in design from kitchen accessories, artwork, floral design, cocktails and even jewelry. This week we continue sampling Strawberries in their most obvious incarnation, food. Strawberries are one of those foods you can eat and enjoy all by itself or add to so many other dishes and make something good even better. As we head into the warmer months of late Spring and Summer we eat a lot of salads at our house and I’m always looking for ways to up the flavor in salads and Strawberries definitely do the trick. It’s as simple as washing and slicing Strawberries and adding them to your favorite salad ingredients and dressing. I love a good spinach salad, one with red onions, hard-boiled eggs and if you want to make it the main course maybe add some grilled chicken and/or bacon. You can easily add Strawberries to your favorite spinach salad combo and add some amazing flavors. Here’s a spinach salad I made recently using both Strawberries and Blueberries, YUM!!!! Enjoy.
