For my August post for At Home, I chose to do Fall Decor, it’s one of my favorite seasons with all the fun bright colors and I know cooler weather is just around the corner. I try to keep these posts fairly simple, where you can just walk into an At Home store pick out what you like and put it together. I came up with four different vignettes: Front Door, Breakfast Table, Coffee Table, and Bookcases. Here’s a look at what I created in the home of a friend, Enjoy!!!
I started at the front door (apologies for the reflections) and that’s as simple as hanging one of the many, many wonderful Fall wreaths available at At Home. They have wreaths in all colors for the season with bright orange, green, yellow, purple and on and on. I chose this one because it goes so well with the color of the exterior the house. I used a magnetic wreath hanger and in a matter of seconds, you have a cheerful greeting for anyone coming to your front door.
Next, I moved into the living room, adding some quick and easy fall decorations to the built-in bookcases in the living room. I love built-ins, they are great storage and allow you to display items that you’ve collected and are important to you and your family.
I wanted to showcase these fabric leaves from At Home, they are so easy to use. They come in a package of about 20 and all you have to do is scatter them where you want them. You can use them on your dining table for Thanksgiving, use them in Fall crafts, they’re just a great punch of color and NOT messy.
Of course, you can’t do Fall decorating without pumpkins and it took me forever to decide which pumpkins I wanted to use, there are so many at At Home. In the end, I chose these that are a traditional orange but they have some gold on them to add a little glitz. Just nestle the pumpkins in among your everyday decor.
Moving over to the coffee table I used a tray that Donna keeps out all year, it usually has candles and sometimes flowers on it. I picked up a box of Acorns and Pinecones from At Home and scattered them in the bottom of the tray. Then I added a pumpkin for a splash of orange and this adorable fox. I knew I had to do something with the fox as soon as I saw it, Donna’s girls are animal lovers so this should be a big hit.
The Acorns are a copper color so they pick up the light in the room as well as the color of the fox.
How could anyone resist that face?
The last place I did some decorating was the kitchen table, this is where this family takes all their meals so it has to be something that can easily be moved if necessary.
I’m a sucker for Art Glass and At Home has all these wonderful glass pumpkins and gourds in different shapes, sizes, and colors and as soon as I saw this guy I knew he had to be the center of a display. Again, I chose one of the awesome wreaths available from At Home.
Just fluff the wreath out, lay it in the center of your table and stand the glass pumpkin in the center of the wreath, it’s literally that simple.
This centerpiece would work in the center of a dining table, as the decoration on a buffet table, on a table in your entryway or on a coffee table. The possibilities are truly endless.
I know it’s still August but Fall is just around the corner and it’s never too early to be thinking ahead and believe me, once September 1 gets here all these wonderful things will be flying off the At Home shelves, and you can always shop from the comfort of your home on the At Home website, make your list and go pick it up. Have a great weekend!!!
