Two weeks ago today we were on a fast and furious trip to the City of Light, Paris. Donna and Geoff really wanted their girls to see Paris since we were a two-hour train ride away, so we booked tickets on the Eurostar and made our way through the Chunnel from London to Paris. Unfortunately, the trip wasn’t without a misstep, we didn’t realize you needed to be at the train station and ready to board the train at LEAST 30 minutes before departure, we arrived about 15 minutes before and were told we couldn’t get on the train, lesson learned. We rebooked for another train leaving a few hours later and instead of an early morning arrival we arrived shortly after lunch, but all was not lost. We saw all the major sights and enjoyed the French capital, just at a very fast pace. Needless to say, we were exhausted by the time we boarded the train to return to London, the weather that day was very warm in Paris and of course with it being Summer the crowds were huge. Here’s a look at our fast and furious Paris adventure, Enjoy!!!
As soon as we arrived in Paris via Eurostar high-speed train we bought tickets for the city’s subway and went into the city with our first stop being Notre Dame. This statue of Charlemagne sits outside the famed cathedral.
The two youngest members of our group were taking in the sights and people, this is right after they posed for a picture in front of Notre Dame.
It was a beautiful but very WARM day in Paris. I can never completely get over the beautiful architecture of the French capital.
I have to say that I will never cease to be amazed at the amount of food two young girls can put away. We stopped at this creperie for them to grab a quick snack of crepes with Nutella.
Why do we not have these in Oklahoma? YUM!!!!!!
I love the whole cafe culture of Paris. Sit, relax, drink, eat, and watch people strolling by while sitting in these beautiful chairs.
One of our goals in the distance pictures in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Hopefully, I’m the one that’s leaning and not Les Invalides, this is the burial site of many of France’s great military heroes.
These three cosmopolitan ladies crossing the Champs Elysee after taking pics in front of the Arc de Triomphe.
So there you have it, a fast and furious trip to Paris, but lots of great memories made.
