Day Four

Today’s idea came about as an extension of yesterday’s post on using cake plates as risers or lifts when creating holiday displays. I had seen glass cloches at At Home a while back and knew I wanted to use them down the road as a way to display some keepsakes that I’ve inherited over the years, but then I got to thinking that a lot of us have special Christmas keepsakes in the form of ornaments we’ve inherited, that were given to us or made for us and this is the perfect way to display them. Cloches are made to cover items and keep them from getting broken or dirty, you know see but don’t touch. So, I combined the cake plate idea with the glass cloche by simply adding a keepsake to the center of a cake plate then cover that item with a cloche and you have instant Christmas display. The small cloche was $7.99 and the large was around $10.99 and the set of three cake plates were about twenty dollars so this is a relatively¬†inexpensive idea to display something that may be priceless to you. Let me know if you use this, I would love to see and hear about what you come up with. Here are some photos for inspiration, Enjoy!!!
