I recently reached out to British artist Anna Mason about any recent artwork I could feature on the blog and she responded with the items I’m featuring today, including images of a painting in progress of black swans. In the past, Anna has focused primarily on botanicals in her artwork but has recently branched out and started doing more wildlife. I LOVE her style of painting, her work is produced using paints and brushes but looks like photographs, I really think it’s amazing. Last year I wrote about Anna a couple of times, focusing on her artwork in general here and did this post last May on her works focusing on Strawberries. I hope you enjoy the images I’m sharing today that Anna sent me and visit her website to see all of her amazing paintings and prints that you can order, Enjoy!!!
This image is of the painting in its early stages, one of the most interesting things is seeing how Anna creates the ripples in the water.
The reflections of the swans are enhanced, I think it’s amazing how Anna is able to capture the reflections in the rippling water.
The swans begin to come more and more to life as details on their feathers are enhanced.
The finished product is gorgeous, this painting is a commissioned work. I’m told this is the first time Anna has painted on such a large scale.
