Michiel Folkers is a Dutch artist who got his start in the 90’s experimenting with graffiti art in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam. Today, art from the streets still plays a major role in what he creates as he uses hand torn pieces of street posters to create works of art on canvas. Folkers uses icons of pop art, both past, and present to create the amazing collage art he’s quickly becoming known for. One thing I find interesting about Folkers technique is that he uses materials that would often be discarded by other artists, such as old brushes and blunt knives Folkers says it makes his work more surprising and exciting. Join me for a look at a few of the works by Michiel Folkers and visit his website here to see all his works and what’s available for purchase, Enjoy!!! (above ~And There Is Nothing I Can Do)
