One of the great things about attending the Design Bloggers Conference are the speakers, people who are experts in their fields of design, blogging, technology, PR, publishing and so much more, of course, some of my favorites are the designers that speak to us about their work and the world of design. One of those designers this year was Timothy Corrigan, Corrigan has design offices both in Los Angeles and Paris and is known for his signature style of “comfortable elegance”. Corrigan has worked for royalty around the world as well as corporate executives, movie stars and some people you may have never heard of. One thing Corrigan does that I love is incorporating antiques into a lot of the designs he does, he showed us some slides of homes he’s worked on and many of them were a combination of current furniture and art as well as antique and more classical pieces. In addition to working for others Timothy Corrigan has been working on a major project of his own, several years ago he purchased Chateau du Grande-Lucé in France’s Loire Valley. The chateau had fallen into great disrepair over the years but today has been restored and decorated and serves Corrigan as a private home. Join me today for a peek into the comfortably elegant world of Timothy Corrigan, Enjoy!!! (above image via)
Entry Halls set the tone for a home and as you can see above and below, Corrigan often handles this with a beautiful traditional touch.
This living room has a wonderful mix of transitional, antique, and contemporary in the mix of furniture and artwork.
I love the touches of red and the mirrored fireplace wall in this Corrigan designed living room.
Never forget the details.
Dining Rooms are important places where holidays are celebrated and sometimes deals are made, these two are gorgeous.
A beautiful and bright living room/kitchen combo.
Tradition galore in this beautiful kitchen.
Bedrooms are a great room to indulge yourself, whether it’s using your favorite colors and patterns or going over the top with fabrics and trims.
These two bedrooms show what can be accomplished using totally different color schemes.
This Corrigan bathroom is a wonderful example of painting a room a neutral color and brightening it up with color from furniture, rugs, lighting, and artwork.
A beautiful place to begin your day or end it with a nice long soak in that beautiful tub.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this look at the beautiful interior design work of Timothy Corrigan. Have a wonderful weekend and check back with us all week next week as we share some of our adventures in California and the world of design. Enjoy!!!
