Topiary Collection by Richard Schultz

I was flipping through a design magazine the other evening, the focus of the article was on the remodel of a family’s NYC condo but in one of the pictures the owners were sitting on their terrace in a wonderful piece of outdoor furniture and the bench was attributed to designer Richard Schultz. I was immediately fascinated by this bench that the magazine described as “lacy,” I began poking around on the internet and discovered the Topiary Outdoor Furniture Collection by Richard Schultz for Knoll. The collection of chairs, tables, benches, and ottomans was designed by Schultz to resemble a shrub that has been trimmed to look like a piece of furniture. The furniture is made from sheets of aluminum that have been bent, stamped, folded and are powdered coated so the furniture can be left outside year round. Since the furniture is bent and folded there are few sharp edges, instead each piece is “a flowing sculptural design” that blends in with its outdoor setting. There are some thirteen different colors to choose from and the collection is offered here on the Knoll website. Today I’ve brought you some images of the pieces available, I just LOVE this. Enjoy!!!

This is the Topiary Collection Lounge Chair and Ottoman/End Table in Powder Blue.

The Topiary Collection Bench is beautiful, I can see this with a wonderful all white cushion to blend seamlessly, or something done in bright stripes.

Here we have the Topiary Collection Dining Chair and Bench, they look awesome together. At the top of today’s post, you can see a grouping made up of these chairs, a bench and one of the dining tables, fun and beautiful.

Here we see the Topiary Collection Dining Chair and the amazing Topiary Dining Table, available in all the colors with tempered glass.
