Adding Drama: Powder Bathrooms

On Tabulous Design you’ll often see me say that a certain paint color, wall covering, or light fixture would be great in a Powder Bathroom and that’s because a Powder Bath is a room that doesn’t necessarily get a lot of use and it’s also the bathroom most of your guest will use when visiting you in your home. A Powder Bath is much┬álike an entry way, it’s a great place to make an awesome first impression. Usually, a Powder Bath consists of a toilet and a sink, although I’ve been in some powder baths that do have a small shower in them, for most parts they are home to facilities to do your business, wash your hands and that’s it. Today we are going to look at some Powder Baths that have an added extra flair from wallpapers to mirrors, lighting and paint you can get a lot of drama and panache in a small room. I hope you get inspired, Enjoy!!! (above image via)

This Powder Bathroom immediately gets drama from the dark color on the walls, when you mix that with the dark marble on the vanity and the gilded mirror, and light fixtures you get several layers of drama. (via)

Color and pattern are the drama makers in this Powder Bathroom, I love the corner sink and double mirrors. (via)

Texture and a natural material like stone add drama to this small Powder Bathroom. (via)

A long narrow Powder Bathroom is brought to life with a gold textured wall covering and lots of white. (via)

The Scalamandre Zebra is one of the best selling wall papers ever. Here we see it coupled with white and brass to create a fun and dramatic bathroom. (via)

Another wallpaper here creates drama. Pulling the grays and sepia tones from the marble on the sink the small room is done in a panorama paper and a contemporary lighted sconce was added for oomph. (via)

I included this picture because of how dramatic it is, definitely an over the top Powder Bathroom. Gold tiles on the wall, gold mirror, and fixtures with a beautiful marble floor with gold make this King Midas’ dream. (via)

This Powder Bathroom takes a more rustic route to attain its drama, wood is the material of choice here with horizontal wood paneling and even a wood base for the clear glass bowl sink. Love it!!! (via)

Another rustic Powder Bathroom, here the sink takes center stage, a large piece of stone has been hollowed out to create a sink. Horizontal wood paneling on the walls and an oversized mirror complete this dramatic room. (via)

Words are my own.
