Italian Chocolate Easter Displays

With this weekend being Easter this is the perfect time for me to share with you photos of the amazing Easter displays in chocolate and candy stores we saw on our recent trip to Italy. The displays are gorgeous and involve not only amazing pieces done in chocolate but also gorgeous papers and ribbons. We saw beautiful displays in all the cities we visited with perhaps the most beautiful being in Florence. Join me today for a look at how candy and chocolate are used to celebrate Spring’s big holiday in Italy, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a Happy Easter to all. Enjoy!!!

I shared this photo on Instagram and Facebook while we were in Venice. This is a Venice candy shop and it was amazing to see in person.

There were bags and bowls filled with these gorgeous “crispy” eggs that came in beautiful pastel colors.

And of course, you need a bowl full of these colorful foil wrapped chocolate eggs, some with cream centers.

Lindt is a well known Swiss Chocolate company and they were all over Italy. They’re famous for their gold wrapped chocolate bunnies.

Of course, chic chocolate bunnies wear animal print. I brought a few of these home for friends.

This is a window at the Gilli Caffè in Florence, a company famous for their chocolates and candies.

Gilli’s wrappings were as beautiful as the chocolates with gorgeous papers, ribbons and silk flowers. Gilli has been around in Florence since 1733.

Some of the chocolate pieces are as comical as they are beautiful. I love these that are a combination of white and milk chocolate.

This white chocolate baby chick breaking out of his shell is one of the cutest things I’ve seen.

The use of color and pattern is amazing.

Notice the houndstooth pattern used here in gold and paired with peach and pink flowers.

We stopped in a Venchi sweets shop for gelato one night and found all these fabulous creations.

Isn’t this chocolate hen the cutest thing? As you can see from the ribbon, Venchi has been around since 1878.

This was the display in a department store window in Milan.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this look at how Easter is done across the pond and what amazing things can be accomplished with chocolate. I’ll see you back here on Monday, have a wonderful weekend and Enjoy!!!

Words and images are my own.
