On Wednesday we talked about the use of geometric shapes in design, we looked at a wallpaper, tile, rugs, and painting shapes on walls. Today we are going to continue with that theme and look at Geometry and shapes in home decor. Shapes have long been the inspiration for certain pieces, who hasn’t been on a hunt for the perfect square coffee table or a perfectly sized round table for the kitchen or breakfast room. We often frame our artwork or mirrors in rectangles to hang horizontally or vertically but aren’t round frames more interesting? Today you can find fun shapes everywhere, in vases, and pillows as well as clocks, wall hangings and even headboards for your bed. Take a look at the fun geometry inspired items I found today and as always, Enjoy!!! (via)

This clock is a perfect example of geometric shapes working in home decor, triangles and various 4 sided shapes combine to create a beautiful timepiece. (via)

I love the diamond shape, three of them combine here to create and wonderful mirror. It’s awesome how they overlap. (via)

Any time you can combine a cool shape like the Pentagons that make up this lamp with a color like rose gold then you get a beautiful piece like the  Geometric Rose Gold Lamp from Crate & Barrel (via)

Geometric shapes in furniture are fun and what better piece to incorporate something different than in occasional tables in your home. (via)

Aren’t these trays beautiful. They each have a hole in the center and the wood you see in the middle is the stand they are on peeking through. (via)

Geometric vases can make a simple arrangement of flowers extra special. Imagine this Geometric Vase from Studio Armadillo filled with Gerbera Daisies or Hydrangeas.  (via)

Lots of fun geometric shapes come together to create these awesome wall shelves. (via)

We are seeing more and more geometry in lighting, especially in lanterns and pendants like the Goldwire Geometric Pendant Light A fun way to light your dining table, kitchen table or put a couple over the kitchen island. (via)

I think this bathroom set from Zara Home is gorgeous, especially when it’s done in pure white like this one. (via)

Mirrors are always a fun way to add interest and light to your room. You can play with the shape of the mirror and its frame and the mirror reflects light back into the room. (via)

I think this table is beautiful, and it’s all made of wood. When I first saw it I thought the geometric inspired base was metal but the top and base are all made from wood. More on the company that makes this and other pieces very soon. (via)

I hope you’ve enjoyed our look at geometric shapes and how they can be used in the decoration of our homes to add beauty and interest. Have an awesome weekend and a wonderful Memorial Day Holiday, we’ll see you back here next week. Enjoy!!!
