Bethenny Frankel’s New SoHo Loft

If you’re a watcher of the Real Housewives of NYC then you are familiar with Bethenny Frankel, she was on the show in the beginning then left the show and is now back on the show. Bethenny has made a nice fortune for herself dealing in New York real estate both in NYC and in the Hamptons as well as creating her Skinny Girl Cocktail empire which she sold for over $8 million a couple of years ago. Earlier this year Bethenny unveiled her new apartment in the SoHo area of NYC and as Architectural Digest says, “it’s sleek and chic”. The apartment is a two bedroom apartment, just right for Frankel and her eight-year-old daughter, the home has several features I like that I’ll talk about below with the photos of the apartment. The apartment is very neutral as far as color with a lot of black, white and gray in the main living areas and Frankel’s bedroom with some color showing up in her daughter’s bedroom. So, grab a cup of coffee and join me for a home tour of an NYC Housewife and Enjoy!!!

Frankel says one of her favorite things about the apartment is the black columns throughout the apartment. The columns are original to the space and were painted black to highlight them. You can get a good idea of the color palette of the home in this photo. The piece of art behind the bar was custom made for the home by Art Loft.

On the other side of the Living Room area, you can see the television and fireplace, the focal points of the room. There was no fireplace in the apartment originally, the designer says it was a lengthy process to get permission to install the fireplace but it does make the room. On each side of the fireplace is storage for videos and equipment on the right and on the left is a snack bar and mini-fridge behind the doors.

I really like how the kitchen and dining area are all one space. The piece of marble on the island is ten and a half feet long and is so heavy it had to be brought in through a window using a boom crane. I really like the wall mirrors on the far left of the photo, they are set up in a grid pattern with thin gold frames. This is a great way to reflect light throughout the room and create interest on a large wall.

The Master Bedroom is huge for a New York City apartment. The upholstered headboard is actually a wall that allows for separation from the bedroom to the bathroom and dressing area.

Frankel says her eight-year-old daughter, Brynn, has adjusted well to the new digs and loves her new room, opting to sleep there at night instead of in Mom’s bed.

One of Brynn’s own creations adorns the wall of her room, I really like the plexiglass wall shelves above the desk.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this look behind the doors of a celebrity home. Have a great weekend, stay cool and dry wherever you are and I’ll see you back here on Monday. As always, Enjoy!!!
