Jeff Lewis “Flipping Out” House For Sale

I love watching Jeff Lewis’ Bravo show “Flipping Out“, not so much for the flipping out but for the homes they work on and see what designs they come up with. I really like Lewis’ style and how he mixes contemporary and traditional or does traditional with a twist. The home we’re looking at today is one of his own that he’s been working on to flip. Lewis got his start as a house flipper but when the bottom fell out of the real estate market in 2008 he took design and decorating jobs to pay bills. Over the last few years as real estate has come back with a bang (for now) Lewis and his team has gotten back into the house flipping game. This home is ultra glamorous and contemporary inside and out with lots of amazing features. I really like the bold herringbone wood floors you’ll see in several photos as well as the all black kitchen, including the granite. This is the second time Lewis has owned this home, he previously bought it and flipped in 2003. This time around he bought the home for $2.4 million and after a major remodel the home is on the market for $7.95 million. The home has 3 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, all new electrical and plumbing along with a new foundation. Originally the house was Spanish in design from the 1920’s but as you can see it has a wonderful contemporary look to it now. Enough chit chat, I’ll give you more details with the photos, let’s start the tour. Enjoy!!!

You enter the home from the street through this reconfigured courtyard entrance. The exterior of the home is covered in limestone, creating a neutral and elegant facade.

Limestone was also used throughout the interior of the house, here we see it on the fireplace in the living room.

Here we get a look from the kitchen to the living room with the dining area on the left and the staircase on the right providing access to the three-story home’s other 2 floors below.

Another look at the gorgeous wood herringbone floors and a peek at the view.

California sunsets are easily viewed from the dining table as retractable doors disappear to open up the terrace area to the rest of the house. LOVE that light fixture.

The black kitchen is gorgeous and the way it pops against the beautiful floor is just perfection. I like how they chose to use black hardware on the black cabinets and the minimal light fixtures over the eating island.

The black and white palette carries over into the master bedroom and bathroom with a feature wall painted in black behind the all-white bed and headboard.

No wood in the bathroom, all tile, and marble. Gray and white tiles cover the floor of the master bath and large pieces of black and white marble create a gorgeous shower with glass doors.

A glamorous seating area on the bottom floor of the house makes up the main room. At the back of the room, you can see a bar area and a door leading another bedroom.

I think this house shows what you can do when you settle on a color palette for your home and carry it throughout the entire house. I also really like how the same herringbone flooring is used throughout to make the 4,300 sq. ft. home have flow. I hope you liked this home tour, have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday. Enjoy!!!
