Cranberry Orange Shortbread Cookies at Mom On Timeout

I LOVE SHORTBREAD COOKIES, they are seriously one of my favorite cookies and they are SO versatile they can be dressed up with nuts, flavorings, and fruits or kept simple and timeless just as shortbread. I had recently seen a recipe for Orange Cranberry Shortbread on the Mom On Timeout website and I loved how they looked and wanted to see if they taste half as good as they look and they do!!!! We made them last Friday when I went to Mom and Dad’s for the day, the recipe is fairly simple and if you bake a lot you may have most everything needed except for Craisins. I’ll attach a link to the recipe for the cookies at the end of the photos and I’ll go into more detail on the cookies with the photos. If you like orange and tart cranberries then give these a try, they also have almond extract which is one of my favorite flavors. They’re slightly crunchy from the sugar on the outside but soft and chewy in the middle with little bites of berry and orange zest. SO GOOD!!!! Enjoy!!!

After you finish mixing the dough you place it on a piece of plastic wrap and roll it into a log and refrigerate it for at least two hours.

After chilling, a couple of hours you can unwrap your dough and cut it into slices about a 1/4 of an inch thick or maybe a little thicker,  depends on what you like.

Have some sugar ready on a small plate and roll each slice in the sugar…

…and place the cookies on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on your oven. Remember, you don’t want Shortbread to get real brown or even golden.

These cookies are so good and filled with so many wonderful flavors. If you’re a Shortbread fan like me check them out, you can visit the Mom On Timeout website below for the full recipe and instructions.
