Champagne Cocktails For Valentine’s Day

Champagne is one of my favorite wines and ways to celebrate and as we approach Valentine’s Day I thought it would be fun to look at a few versions of Champagne Cocktails. Champagne cocktails are when you combine Champagne with other wines or liqueurs to create something completely new. The first Champagne Cocktail I ever had was served at a friend’s house many years ago and was Champagne, Angostura Bitters on a sugar cube, drop the sugar cube into a Champagne glass and add the Champagne. Very good. Today there are lots of versions of a Champagne cocktail, some involve Brandy or other flavored liqueurs. Whatever recipe you prefer, have one or two this Valentine’s Day and Enjoy!!! Here’s the recipe for a Grand Royal which uses Grand Marnier with Champagne.

Ernest Hemingway’s Death In The Afternoon sounds not only yummy but dangerous.

A French 75 adds a little gin and lemon juice to the Champagne mix.

A Barbotage adds brandy to the already delicious Champagne, Grand Mariner mixture.

And above is a great little video from Liquor.com featuring how to make the traditional Champagne Cocktail as well as a special recipe from the featured bartender.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this look at Champagne cocktails and hopefully, they’ll find their way onto your Valentine’s Day menu whether your dining out or eating at home. Enjoy!!!

Words are my own.
