Birra Birra Craft Pizzeria

Last weekend Michael and I were invited to the soft opening, kind of a sneak preview, of Birra Birra Craft Pizzeria here in Oklahoma City. Jeff Dixon is one of the owners of Birra Birra and had sent us an invite, full disclosure I’ve known Jeff since he was about a year old when my mom went to work for his dad in his dad’s new medical practice in Weatherford back in the early ’80s.  Birra Birra is GORGEOUS, it has a sleek feel to it with lots of metal, glass and gorgeous light colored wood used everywhere, it feels very California or dare I even say it, very LA. We had signed up for an 11 am reservation on Saturday, we were immediately seated and given menus, I ordered a cider and Michael tried one of their on tap beers and we ordered their Zucchini Fries as an appetizer while we perused the menu. The bar boasts the longest Ice Rail in the U.S., a great way to keep your beverage chilled while you are sitting and enjoying your food at the bar. Birra Birra is part of the Provision Concepts family of restaurants which also includes Hatch, Broadway 10, and Sidecar Barley & Winebar. Enough chatter, I’m going to share the photos I took on my iPhone and I’ll give you more details with the pics. For any of you locals, Birra Birra is located in the Chisholm Creek area of north OKC,  just off the turnpike between Penn and Western. They have a gorgeous patio area that overlooks the lake and fountains. Enjoy!!!

The front entrance of Birra Birra Craft Pizzeria on a rainy Saturday morning.

The floors are concrete, the tables are marble, the chairs and stools are sleek and wooden at Birra Birra.

The bar is well lit and I’m happy to report there are plenty of plugs built into the bar to charge your device while enjoying a cocktail and pizza.

Above the bar is all beautiful blonde wood with display cases filled with colorful liquors. Aperol Spritzer anyone?!?!

Below the bar are plenty of awesome hooks for the ladies to hand their handbags, anyone to hang a jacket or to control the cables of your charging devices.

A view of the kitchen beyond the bar area.

The gorgeous Pizza Oven where the magic happens. Note the staircase in the background that takes you upstairs and another seating area and bar with access to outdoor balcony seating.

On to the important stuff, drinks, and pizza. I had an Angry Orchard Cider, I’m not a beer drinker so I’m always happy to find when restaurants have ciders on the menu. (and I always have an unsweet iced tea)

The menu has lots of great choices but isn’t overwhelming, I never like it when a menu reads more like a novel and you have to turn numerous pages to decide. Do a few things and do them WELL.

We ordered two things, the Green Goddess Pizza and Mama B’s Chicken Parm.

The Green Goddess is House-made dough, Basil Pesto, Kale dressed in Lemon Vinaigrette, Shaved Chicken & Red Onion, Topped with Toasted Pine Nuts, and Arugula. This Pizza is so good, I love Pesto used as a sauce and this one did not disappoint. WELL DONE!!!!

Mama B’s Chicken Parm is a single large Chicken Breast covered in breading, sauce, and cheese. This thing is huge, we ate two pieces and brought the rest home and got two more meals out of it paired with Caprese Salad. SO GOOD!!!!

After we finished our lunch Jeff took us on a quick tour including upstairs. This is the bar area upstairs, the windows on the left open up for those great outdoor days.

There are several more tables upstairs on the left and a great long bar to seat at least 10 more people. The bar overlooks the staircase and there are also two big screen TV’s across from the upstairs bar area.

This is the view into the Kitchen you see as you go up and down the stairs.

Time to make the Pizza!!!!

A view down into the downstairs bar.

We had a great time and wonderful meal at Birra Birra and I want to thank Jeff for the invitation and his staff for taking wonderful care of us. We’ll definitely be back and I encourage you to visit when you have a chance, it’s well worth it.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this look at Birra Birra, I love to highlight local businesses when I get a chance and when great food is involved it makes it even easier. check out Birra Birra’s Facebook page here, Have a great weekend and Enjoy!!!
