A Beautiful Wedding of Pink and White

June 14, 2019

By Tab Byrum

I was able to help this past weekend with the flowers and set up of a wedding here in Oklahoma City. If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter you might have seen some of the photos I posted while we were working. The Bride was very laid back and was open to whatever we suggested, her only request was Protea in her and her bridesmaid’s bouquets. There were 25 tables at the reception and we did three different centerpieces with candles in hurricane vases on some, low crystal bowls with flowers on some and tall centerpieces using tall vases and plastic holders for the bouquets. I’ll show you the photos I took and go into more detail plus a look at some of the beautiful calligraphy work from Shana Myers over at Ink Stain Fingers. Enjoy!!!

For one of our low centerpieces, I did glass bowls that I filled with hydrangeas, white stock, white and pink peonies, and some greens and roses.

The meal was a buffet so the guests’ napkins were at their places and they were anchored with a packet of Jordan Almonds that the Groom’s family had brought.

The other low centerpiece was a glass hurricane with a pillar candle and around the bottom, we laid seeded eucalyptus that we used in larger arrangments and the bridal bouquets.

Our wow moments came from the tall arrangements we did in plastic Lomey dishes and attached to the top of fluted glass vases.

These I filled with Hydrangeas, Peonies, Stock, White and Pink Roses, and Seeded Eucalyptus.

I left some of the beautiful leaves on the Hydrangeas to help hid the mechanics of the arrangement which was florist foam and waterproof tape. It all made for a very colorful and natural looking arrangement.

It was great having the higher arrangements to get some color “up” in the room but guests could still see past the arrangments to talk to each other.

The tables were all covered in Ivory Tablecloths that worked beautifully with the pink napkins and the Ivory, Pink, and White Flowers.

Shana Myers of Ink Stain Fingers had done all the invitations, programs as well as making this beautiful sign that greeted guests when they entered the church.

She used white paint and her amazing calligraphy skills on a smoky gray acrylic disc she had cut locally.

Wrist corsages were worn by Mothers and Grandmothers, tied on with beautiful satin ribbons.

Boutonnieres were laid out and labeled so all the men in the Bridal Party could find their flower.

Again, some more of the beautiful calligraphy work from Shana at Ink Stain Fingers on the label cards for the flowers.

The perfect way to end is with a gorgeous gold and cream wedding cake decorated with some of our soft pink Roses and Seeded Eucalyptus.

I hope you enjoyed this look at this recent wedding we helped with and I’ll be sharing more events and news with you as they happen and hope to get back to posting a lot more regularly. If you are interested in having us help you with parties, weddings or any celebration you might be planning please let us know here or email me at tab@tabulousdesign.com. If it’s for Calligraphy work or signs I’ll pass it along to Shana. Have a great weekend and Enjoy!!!
