Christmas Candles are one of those things that give you a double “hit” of pretty, they’re beautiful to look at during the day because of their colors and the designs on them and they’re even more beautiful after they’ve been lit. When I was a little boy we had a red and white candle that was in the shape of Christmas Tree, we never lit it because we didn’t want to destroy it, I still think of that candle every Christmas. At Home has a lot of beautiful candles in the stores in whatever colors you’re looking for, whether it’s gold, silver, white, blue, or red they’ve got it. As you’ll also see today they have beautiful candles in great designs like the red and white candy stripes I’m featuring. Here’s a look at what you can combine and create using Christmas Candles from At Home, Enjoy!!!
Hello, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have fully recovered from your turkey comas as we head into a new season of ideas and holiday decor. I have lots planned for this year’s Christmas season starting with today and a look at a brand new home that I helped decorate for the holidays this year and completed right before Thanksgiving. As is often the case, this client heard about me through word of mouth, I initially helped her with some fall decorating, including her front porch here, then we headed into getting ready for Christmas. This home for the holidays was really a lot of fun, the client wanted a completely new and different look than what she and her family had before, previously it had been very traditional and red but with her new home being more neutral she wanted to go with a color scheme of more whites and silvers with a lot of natural elements. We spent most of one whole day shopping Oklahoma City for a new tree and new decorations, hitting up a couple of the local stores that specialize in holiday decorations and I made a couple of trips to At Home and the local wholesaler for greenery and filler and my client found several great things online. Today I’m taking you on a tour of what we did in this beautiful new home for it’s first Christmas and I’ll give you more details along the way, Enjoy!!!
For my November decorating challenge from At Home I chose their Holiday Dining Table challenge and decided to do something for Fall and Thanksgiving. I had had my eye on the amazing collection of art glass pumpkins At Home had in the stores this year and decided this was the perfect opportunity to do something fun and different with them. Everything I used in the challenge came from At Home and I’ll show you and tell what I did along the with photos from setting up the table. Enjoy!!!
For my At Home post for this month, I chose their Harvest Mantel challenge. I love decorating fireplace mantels, the fireplace is usually the focus of a room and one of the first things you see when entering a room so a beautifully decorated fireplace is always fun. I called one of my longtime clients, I decorate her home every year for all the major holidays and help her with her parties as well as any interior design work she does in her home. I told her I wanted to decorate her formal living room mantel because I wanted to do something different, I wanted a mantel that was more contemporary in look as well as use fall decorations in a neutral color palette. At Home has lots of Fall merchandise in white and gold which works so well with the grays, creams, taupes, and whites that so many people are using right now. I’ll stop talking and share pictures with you and explain my thinking along the way. Enjoy!!!

I love getting good emails and that’s what I received yesterday from MacKenzie~Childs, they are sharing some of their newest merchandise available for Spring in the way of throws, candles, and pillows and I want to share it with you today. MC always has the latest in design as far as shapes and colors, of course, they have their own colors they use such as Courtly Check, Parchment and bright pinks and blues. I love how they take very traditional shapes in furniture and accessories and then turn them into something completely different by covering them with fun fabrics, paint colors, and patterns. Here’s a look at Spring at MacKenzie~Childs and what’s new, Enjoy!!!
