I love to bake, I don’t do a lot of it because of the obvious reason, we would just eat it. But truth be told Williams-Sonoma has beautiful bakeware that could definitely get me in the mood to bake up batches of fall goodies. They have amazing pans that when the cake or bread comes out is full of pumpkins and leaves. There are tools for cutting out amazing Fall inspired pie crusts for Autumn apple or pumpkin pies, and I love the pans that allow you to create small bite size goodies with an Autumn theme. Check out a few of the pieces of bakeware here and head over the Williams-Sonoma website to see all their amazing pans and utensils for baking Fall goodies. Enjoy!!!

Almost as important as the taste of a good cake is the presentation, and nothing can do that better than a beautiful cake stand. American Heirloom is a wife and husband run company that started out specializing in handmade cutting boards ( a whole different post) and has since evolved into among other things cake stands. Their cake stands are so elegantly simple and the fact that their bases are made of wood (maple and walnut) makes them that much more alluring. Right now the stands come in two different wood types and two different silhouettes, and two different sizes plus some of the stands can be personalized with names, initials, and or dates to make a wonderful gift for weddings or a special birthday for a baker. As you can also see from the above picture the stands can do double duty to help create a beautiful centerpiece for your table or would also be great cheese boards for pre-sliced cheese, or put the crackers on the cake stand and the cheese below it on another board. Join me today for a peek at Amy and Bill’s creations and to see more great products from American Heirloom check out their website. Enjoy!!!

I’ve recently been working on a project, helping a client move into a new law office that he put into a building that’s over 100 years old. He had a vision of what he wanted it to look like as far as construction and a finished out space, he called me in to help him with the decoration of the space and furniture placement. I was so happy when I went to the see the space for the first time and he showed me the break room area, he’s shooting for a retro vibe and totally got it by installing appliances from Big Chill. I love the products from the Boulder, Colorado company, they capture the look of the 1950’s and 60’s appliances in form, but function as 21st century appliances in how they work and the colors that are available. Big Chill also has a more current look with their Pro Line, but with these you get their amazing color choices on what most companies only put out in stainless, black or white. These appliances are awesome for folks restoring older homes, for those people wanting to capture a vintage feel in their kitchen or just add a splash of color. These definitely have me rethinking my kitchen remodel, I would love to have some of these beauties to greet me every time I walk into the kitchen. Join me as we take a look at the products of Big Chill and see them in some finished rooms, Enjoy!!!

We are continuing to get our ducks in a row to remodel our kitchen, in doing that there are all kinds of things I keep thinking of I want to do in the kitchen or an accessory or product I want to have to cook with. We are adding an island in the kitchen with a granite top and I want a great cutting board to use on the island, I love to make soup, my own marinara sauce and lots of other epicurean creations that require lots of chopping, so I want something big and chunky.
I was searching the internet for wood artists that create wood cutting boards and found some things I really love and want to share with you. Each of these artists exhibit their products on Etsy, so just click on the name of their brand and it will take you to their Etsy page. Let me know what’s your favorite or if you know of an artist or brand of cutting boards that you’re partial to. Enjoy!!!

My mom has always loved to bake, as did her mother and grandmothers. I remember all of my childhood there being cookies in the cookie jar, angel food cakes and pied, all done with a hand-held mixer, I also remember how excited my mom was when she got her first KitchenAid Stand Mixer, it literally changed our lives.
Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers are still a staple piece of equipment in kitchens of people who like to cook, but now they are getting “gussied” up a little. There is a trend of having hand painted decorations done to mixers and well as decals you can buy to do it yourself. I have to say I love Pioneer Woman’s orange mixer (as seen above) with the painted on flowers, I always smile when she gets it out. So join me today as we look at inspiration for taking that stand mixer to the next level.

I have got to have some of the Tabulous creations of artist Rosalie Sherman. Sherman is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art and has spent many years creating public space sculputures. I recently discovered her work on Artful Home.
Working in a wide variety of materials ranging from wood to steel to fabric and now in pewter, Sherman has gone from creating life sized crocodiles and tigers to focusing on her work adorning our homes in the form of handles, knobs, door bell covers, door knockers, hooks and so much more.

I LOVE ICE CREAM!!! There, I’ve said it and it’s out in the open. So with yesterday, July 20, being National Ice Cream Day and the whole month of July being designated Ice Cream month, I decided to not only take a look at the frozen treat, but more specifically what’s available to get homemade ice cream from the mixing bowl to your favorite ice cream bowl.
