Bethenny Frankel’s New SoHo Loft

June 1, 2018

By Tab Byrum

If you’re a watcher of the Real Housewives of NYC then you are familiar with Bethenny Frankel, she was on the show in the beginning then left the show and is now back on the show. Bethenny has made a nice fortune for herself dealing in New York real estate both in NYC and in the Hamptons as well as creating her Skinny Girl Cocktail empire which she sold for over $8 million a couple of years ago. Earlier this year Bethenny unveiled her new apartment in the SoHo area of NYC and as Architectural Digest says, “it’s sleek and chic”. The apartment is a two bedroom apartment, just right for Frankel and her eight-year-old daughter, the home has several features I like that I’ll talk about below with the photos of the apartment. The apartment is very neutral as far as color with a lot of black, white and gray in the main living areas and Frankel’s bedroom with some color showing up in her daughter’s bedroom. So, grab a cup of coffee and join me for a home tour of an NYC Housewife and Enjoy!!!

Royal Wedding Wrap Up

May 21, 2018

By Tab Byrum

OK, surely you didn’t think we could skip out on looking at all the amazing design that went into making Saturday’s Royal Wedding happen…did you? Today we are going to look at all the things we talked about leading to the Royal Wedding, from the flowers and the cake to the dress and jewelry. I personally thought it was a beautiful wedding, it was much smaller and more intimate than William and Kate’s wedding 7 years ago but that was because this wasn’t an official state occasion, thus the absence of Presidents and Kings and Queens from other countries. I’ll talk a little more about all the ingredients that made this wedding a feast for the eyes. Enjoy!!! (above via)

Royal Wedding ~ 6 Wedding Tiara Possibilities

May 18, 2018

By Tab Byrum

Tomorrow is the big day and we know quite a bit, things like the flavor of the wedding cake, who the florist is, the venue of the wedding and BOTH wedding reception/parties. But there are three questions everyone is waiting to be answered, who designed the wedding dress, what does it look like and what tiara will the bride wear or will she even wear a tiara. Today we are going to take a look at some of the possibilities as far as choices Meghan Markle has in tiaras. Now, the jewelry vaults of the British royal family are VAST, Queen Elizabeth has a massive collection of jewelry at her disposal and a lot of it, especially tiaras, she loans out to other members of the royal family to wear on special occasions. In the past, she has loaned wedding tiaras to her daughter, Princess Anne and granddaughter-in-law Kate Middleton, in 1986 the Queen and Prince Philip purchased a tiara for their new daughter-in-law Sarah Ferguson. Today I’ve gathered images of 6 tiaras that I think are possibilities, all of them unique in their design as well as being antique pieces of jewelry. One of the tiaras doesn’t belong to the Queen but does have a strong connection to Prince Harry. So, join me for a look at the possible crowns that will grace the head tomorrow of the newest royal bride and the beautiful design that has gone into all of them. Enjoy!!! (above via)

Royal Wedding ~ Wedding Reception #1, St. George’s Hall

May 16, 2018

By Tab Byrum

We are winding down our look at anything and everything that has to do with this weekend’s upcoming Royal Wedding. There’s been a little bit of scandal here towards the end of our wait with the Bride’s Father deciding he’s not going to attend the wedding after he was involved with some tabloid photographers. But, as the English saying says, “Keep Calm and Carry On”. Today we are going to look at Windsor Castle where the wedding will take place in St. George’s Chapel and then a wedding breakfast or reception will follow in the castle itself in St. George’s Hall. There will be a second reception/party the night of the wedding being given by Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, at Frogmore House and we’ll look at that venue tomorrow. For our look at Windsor we are looking back at a post I did on Windsor Castle 2 years ago after Michael and I had visited the castle earlier. Click here to visit the post on Windsor Castle

Above is a picture of St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle, this will be the venue for the Wedding Reception or Breakfast immediately following the wedding. St. George’s Hall is 180 feet long and its architecture is Gothic in style. The room is decorated with weapons and suits of armor as well as the shields of all the current and past Knights of The Most Noble Order of the Garter, you can see the shields on the ceiling and the walls on the right. The hall is often used for State Banquets held at Windsor Castle as well as large parties and some military events are held here. This is a beautiful place for a reception and will be amazing filled with people in bright colors, big hats and of course wedding cake. To read more about the Hall and Castle, click here. Royal Wedding ~ Wedding Dresses

May 4, 2018

By Tab Byrum

The maker of Meghan Markle’s wedding dress is a well-kept secret, it has been for royal brides since the press were all trying to get photos and information about Lady Diana Spencer’s dress before her marriage to Prince Charles in 1981. Royal weddings dresses are always a keen source of inspiration for designers and brides alike, designers want to create something just as beautiful as what the most recent royal bride has worn and brides want to look just like her. The most recent royal wedding was between William and Kate in 2011 and the designer chose for Kate’s dress was Sarah Burton, creative director for the fashion house, Alexander McQueen. Today we are going to look at several different royal wedding dresses through history, worn by both princesses and commoners who married into the royal family. We are going to go all the way back to 1840 when Victoria married Prince Albert, so join me for a look at royal wedding fashion and Enjoy!!! (above image via) In the post, I’ve referred to the all the ladies by their titles at the time of their marriages.

Royal Wedding Venue ~ St. George’s Chapel

April 20, 2018

By Tab Byrum

Everyone enjoyed the post I did last week on the florist who has been chosen to do the flowers for the upcoming wedding between Britains’s Prince Harry and Meghan Markle so I thought we would continue on to look at different aspects of the upcoming nuptials from a design perspective and for fun on Fridays. The wedding ceremony itself will be held in St. George’s Chapel within the walls of Windsor Castle, the longest occupied castle in Europe. Windsor, of course, is one of the homes of Britain’s monarch Queen Elizabeth who mainly uses it on the weekends. Windsor is in the Birkhall region of England and is a little over 20 miles outside of London. Michael and I visited the Castle on our first trip to England in February of 2014 and I have to say it’s still one of my favorite places we have visited. The chapel itself was established in the 1300’s by Edward III and has been the scene of many weddings and christenings and is the burial place for many former English Kings and Queens. The Queen’s parents, George VI & Queen Elizabeth, are buried in the chapel as well as her grandparents, great grandparents, and King Henry VIII. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will walk down the main aisle of the chapel on Saturday, May 19th to tie the royal knot, join me today for a look at the chapel as well as some recent weddings that took place there. Have a wonderful weekend and Enjoy!!! (image via)
