Happy Friday!!!! I’m off to Hydro to see mom and dad today, Dad has been feeling under the weather so I’m going to see them, have lunch and help mom with some holiday baking. It’s been years since we’ve tried our hand at decorated Christmas cookies but we’re going to give it a whirl today. There are so many amazing ideas for decorated cookies, whether it’s using Royal Icing, Buttercream, Colored Sugars, the possibilities are endless. We are going to be using buttercream on cookies cut out in holiday shapes. I’ll share pics if they turn out good. I also have a couple of recipes I want to try for some others that I’ll share. I hope everyone has a great weekend, we had a business party last night and a client’s Christmas party tomorrow night and I plan on doing some cooking during the day on Saturday and Sunday. I leave you now with images and visions of gorgeous Christmas cookies and links to the recipes for more information, hopefully, to inspire you to try your hand at baking and decorating your own. Enjoy!!! (above via)

On Monday and Tuesday, we looked at fun and beautiful Christmas wrapping papers from companies around the world and one of the last ones we looked at was Sundance Catalog and their beautiful and unusual papers based right here in America. While I was checking out the papers and Sundance I also saw an amazing selection of ribbons and trims that coordinate beautifully with their papers and wanted to share them with you today. These ribbons can be used on all kinds of papers whether they’re simple brown kraft paper, white butcher paper or the most elegant papers with damask patterns or the Champagne Paper we saw yesterday from Crate&Barrel. There are velvet ribbons, grosgrain ribbons, pom-poms, and vintage looking ribbons, and no one said they’re only for Christmas, use them year round. Join me today for a peek at what’s available from Sundance and visit the entire selection here at Sundance Catalog.com. Have a great day and Enjoy!!!
5 Christmas Wrapping Paper Sources, Day 1
December 10, 2018

For me, the wrapping of gifts is an art unto itself. Back when I worked in retail I LOVED wrapping gifts and I also loved picking what wrapping papers we were going to use in the store for gift wrap as well as choosing the ones we were going to sell to the public. I’m always amazed every year to see what artists and companies come out with every year that’s new and different. Whether you like traditional, contemporary, dogs, penguins or plain paper with fancy ribbons, there’s something out there for you. Today and tomorrow we are going to take a look at paper selections from 10 different sources, I’m sharing some of the ones that really jumped out at me or made me say, “Ahhhhhh”. I guarantee you can find something that matches your Christmas decor and makes you smile. Today we are looking at papers from some websites that are more “boutique” and tomorrow we are looking at some more well-known sources. Check them all out and Enjoy!!!
A Few Favorite Christmas Decorations
December 7, 2018
By
This year my crew and I decorated 14 houses and 2 businesses for Christmas, I try to share as much as I can along the way but sometimes I get busy and forget so I want to share them here today. This is just a small sample of what we’ve done and some of my favorites, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Remember, it’s now how big the house is or about having all new decorations, you can do SO much with what you have by adding a few new things here and there, like ribbon and floral picks. I’ll go into a little more detail with the photos, I hope you like them as much as I do. Enjoy!!!
Christmas Changes, Part 2
December 5, 2018

I made a couple of changes to decorations this year at a second house I’ve decorated for years and shows the difference one little thing makes. In this case, the change is ribbon, a new ribbon that I added to the staircase garland and on a garland above a mirror in the home’s dining room. My client collects MacKenzie-Childs and especially uses it in the kitchen and dining room of her home, so I found a black and white checked ribbon that coordinates beautifully with all things MC and added to the staircase garland and the mirror garland. Needless to say, both the homeowner and I are thrilled with the results, the checked ribbon adds a big punch of pattern to both places and really makes her MacKenzie-Childs collections “pop”. Join me today for a quick look and tour of the changes and before and after photos. Enjoy!!!
Here you can see where we added the Black and White ribbon to the already existing garland that is decorated with Gold, Silver and Soft Green Ornaments. There’s also a soft green mesh ribbon in the garland and large Silver beaded garland and Pearl garland. This is the side of the staircase that shares space with the dining room where a lot of the MacKenzie-Childs is.
OH MY GOSH, IT’S DECEMBER!!!!
December 3, 2018

It seems kind of unbelievable but we’ve made it to another December and it rolled back around SO fast. I love this month for so many reasons starting with today is my Dad’s birthday, Happy Birthday Pop!!!! Also, my birthday comes later in the month and then, of course, there’s Christmas and all the hubbub, pomp, and pageantry that goes with that. I love Christmas lights and all the outdoor decorations everyone puts up both fabulous and tacky. I’ve been busy decorating clients’ homes for Christmas since November 5th, I have another house I’m busy doing today and then another later this week for a client who moved right before Thanksgiving. The rest of this month I’m going to share some of the decorating I’ve done for others and in our home for the holidays, I’ll share some recipes of some of our fave holiday treats including cocktails and give you ideas for gifts for everyone on your list. Today we are starting with a look at images of December and all the 12th month of the year brings with it. I’ll see you back here tomorrow, Enjoy!!! (via)
