Gallery walls are just that, a wall where art is displayed much like it is in an art gallery. Gallery walls in homes seem to go up and down in popularity but never totally go out of style, and I don’t think they ever will. I’m seriously contemplating a gallery wall ( or 2 ) in our home, the first one being in the bedroom. I like a home gallery wall that has a theme, for lack of a better word, to it. Whether the pictures have a common denominator such as all portraits, landscapes or seascapes. You can also have several different types of artwork but maybe they are all framed in the same or same type of frame, and I’ve also seen gallery walls where the artwork is different but the pictures are all matted in the same color matting.
If you’re like me and you have a lot of artwork and don’t live in a huge house then gallery walls may be just what you need, gallery walls are also a great way to display several pictures that mean something to you such as family pics or photos that you took on those trips you will never forget (Paris, Versailles, London and the English countryside). Let’s take a look at some gallery walls, let me know what you think and if you would, wouldn’t or already have done this, Enjoy!!!
I know this isn’t for everyone and may seem “busy”, but I love the way this homeowner made it all work.
Hallways are prefect for Gallery Walls, with their long pieces of wall.
A personal work space like this one is a great place for a Gallery Wall.
This is a great way to figure out what pictures should go where on a Gallery Wall. Craft paper cut to the size of pictures, hung with painter’s tape, then replace the paper with the artwork.
A family photo theme for this Gallery Wall on a stairway landing.
Black and white old world prints, and I’ll take two of that sofa PLEASE.
Your Gallery Wall doesn’t always have to be artwork, here a collection of mirrors make up a display.
Great example of mat color being the tie that binds this display.
