I have to be honest and say before doing this series on diamonds and fine jewelers I had never heard of the Italian jeweler Buccellati. Mario Buccellati began his jewelry business in 1919 and established stores in Milan, Rome and Florence, an overseas presence was established in 1956 with the opening of a store in New York City on Fifth Avenue. Today there are stores all across Europe and Asia with design being handled by Andrea Buccellati and his daughter Lucrezia. Buccellati is known for it’s work with Italian gold, and true to it’s Italian heritage many designs are done in Roman styles but are given lacy effects through carvings. Let’s take a look today at the amazing work of Buccellati, Enjoy!!!
