May is National Bike Month, it’s meant to make people aware of all the benefits of bicycling and encourage you to give bikes a try, it’s sponsored by League of American Bicyclists and was started in 1956.
Bicycles were first introduced in Europe in the early 19th century and as of 2003 there have been more than a billion bikes produced, that’s double the amount of cars in the world. In many countries bicycles are the go to mode of transportation, such as in China and Holland. Bicycles have come a long way in how they look, but still use the same basic design. Bikes are used by many people in their day to day jobs, such as messengers and delivery people and their have even been branches of the military that have had bicycle units for troop movement and scouting. Join me today as we take a look at bicycles, their design and what’s on the market from one of America’s premiere bike makers, Enjoy!!!
