I’ve always enjoyed the work of designer Marty Lawrence Bullard, he’s always over the top and colorful so I was excited to see his tile collection at Ann Sacks. Bullard says his collection does two things, first, it honors and pays homage to the great decorative history of tile and both inside and outside of buildings as well as “embracing” the future of design with some more contemporary designs. Bullard has four collections that are available from Ann Sacks, all of them inspired by regions of the world and times in history, with names like Eastern Promise, Hermitage, Mousharabia and Urban Armor. I want to share some of my favorites with you today and when you have a chance be sure and check out the complete Martyn Lawrence Bullard collection at Ann Sacks. Enjoy!!!
Eastern Promise Collection
The Eastern Promise collection from Martyn Lawrence Bullard is a softer and more modern take on Eastern design. The tiles are handcrafted in Morocco and are great for any indoor wall and floor use.
Hermitage
Bullard’s Hermitage collection is made up of mirrored tiles with 20th-century patterns created using 18th-century techniques for mirror tiles. I love this collection and can imagine doing a wall in these tiles in perhaps a bathroom or powder bath then hanging mirrors on top of the tiles for daily use.
Mousharabia
The Mousharabia collection takes its inspiration from carved wood screens, Bullard has always been fascinated with these screens and it shows in this beautiful collection of tiles.
Urban Armor
The Urban Armor collection is made up of geometric shapes in different steel finishes, including raw steel, antique steel, brushed steel and antique brass. If you are into straight lines and geometric shapes then this is the collection for you.
