Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: A Review

Over the weekend we saw the newest installment to the world of Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. The film takes place in 1920’s New York City and follows the adventures of Newt Scamander in his quest to round up all the mythical beasts that are known only to the witches and wizards of the world. The film takes its premise and title from a textbook used by students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the book was one studied by Harry Potter and other students and tells us the tales of strange and magical beasts from all over the world and how they can be used in magic. The film is very fun for all ages, I have to admit that there are a few “slow”spots but they don’t last long and there’s tons of action to make up for it. We get lots of backstories and hear mentioned names that we are familiar with, like Albus Dumbledore and the LeStrange family. If you have kids to entertain this coming holiday weekend Fantastic Beasts is a great way to do it, especially if they’re fans of the original eight films. From a design standpoint, there are lots of things to enjoy from all the 1920’s costumes and architecture as well as the always interesting interiors of Wizarding buildings and cars. Check out Fantastic Beasts and Enjoy!!! (above image via)
