New York In Spring

April 19, 2017

By Tab Byrum

Today I’m heading to New York City with my friend Donna for our kind of annual trip on or around her birthday on April 20th. This year we are going to be there from today, Wednesday the 19th, until Sunday the 23rd. New York City, like most cities, is really pretty in the Spring, there are flowers blooming in Central Park and on the High Line, the weather is usually still cool enough to be comfortable and the crowds aren’t too bad since it’s before school lets out. Some of our plans this trip are to see a few Broadway shows, we’re seeing Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close, The Little Foxes with Laura Linney, Cynthia Nixon, Richard Thomas and Michael Mckeon and the new show War Paint starring Patti Lupone and Christine Ebersole. Of course, there will be lots of shopping, wonderful lunches at The Monkey Bar and Balthazar and pre-show dinners at Polo Bar, Rooftop Haven, and Buddakan. I’ll try to get lots of pictures and share reviews with you of the shows and food after we get home. During the trip,  you can follow me on Facebook at Tabulous Design or on Instagram at tabulousdesign. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and here’s a few pics of NYC in the Spring. Enjoy!!! The High Line in NYC is the former elevated train tracks that have been turned into a walking park. (via)

Central Park in the Spring is a beautiful place and after the long winter the locals come out to soak up all the sun they can. (via)

I always enjoy a visit to Washington Square Park, it’s a lovely space that reminds me of the Henry James short novel by the same name. (via)

Bryant Park is a wonderful green space behind the NY Public Library’s main branch between 5th and 6th Avenues. (via)
