The New VW Bus

Everything old is new again, a phrase you hear quite often as things from the past are redesigned, such is the case with the Volkswagen Bus. You used to see a lot of these little round top vans on the roads and you still see the occasional one now, but chances are we will be seeing a lot more of them in their new skins. VW announced last year they were taking their famous “VW Bus” back to the drawing board and creating a new 21st Century version and now we can see it. It is very sleek and has some of the same fun features of the original, including the ability of the front seats to spin around and face the back, just not while you are driving. I’m sharing some images of the new model and I’ll give you more information with the pictures, Enjoy!!! (above image via)

Volkswagen intends to have the models ready for production by 2020 and are rumored to be electric. The rumor is that there will be a self-driving version by 2025. (via)

Projected top speeds for the van are around 99 mph and travel up to 270 miles on one charge, they are also working on a battery that can recharge within 30 minutes. (via)

Inside the VW Bus, they are working on being able to reconfigure the seats, comfort, and utility. (via)

A look back at the original version, this one held 12 people. Still a goodie. (via)

Words are my own.
